Student wellbeing workshops

Feeling anxious, stressed or isolated? Pause Create offers a calm, welcoming space to slow down, explore creativity and connect with others.

We all know that stress blocks creativity but, did you know research has shown that creativity helps reduce stress. When we do something creative we reduce the release of stress hormones like cortisol and increase positive hormones such as Dopamine. If a person develops a regular creative practice they can reduce psychological stress, stress hormones, their heart rate and blood pressure, inflammatory proteins, it has even been found to slow biological ageing.

Pause Create provides a calm space to slow down through basic mindfulness practice, reducing psychological distress, increases motivation, productivity and creativity. Participants are then encouraged to explore creativity in a playful, process driven way. Focusing on expression not evaluation.

The benefits of this practice are increased by working collaboratively as a group, to reduce feeling of isolation with connection. Participants are given the foundations to continue this practice in their daily lives.

Our Services

Four Workshop Series

Four, weekly in person workshops, combining mindfulness and creativity to reduce anxiety, stress and feelings of isolation. Provided in a calm inclusive space to pause, create and connect. Participants will be guided through a short mindfulness exercise and then a specific creative practice. Each week the group will also be given mindful and creative exercises to do at home, to extend and embed the benefits from the workshops.

Each session is 90 minutes.

No previous mindfulness or art skills required.

All materials provided.

Single Workshop

One off, in person workshop, combining mindfulness and creativity to reduce anxiety, stress and feelings of isolation. This session provides a brief insight into the benefits of focusing your attention in the present and being creative. Participants will leave with mindful and creative activities to extend and embed the benefits from the workshop.

The session is 90 minutes.

No previous mindfulness or art skills required.

All materials provided.

Six Week Pause Create Hub

Six, weekly in person informal workshops, combining mindfulness and creativity to reduce anxiety, stress and feelings of isolation. The Hub sessions allow more freedom for expression and experimentation within the creative activities. The aim here is to deepen the practice and foster a stronger connection within the group. Each week the group will be given exercises to do at home, to embed the practice.

Each session is 1 hour.

No previous mindfulness or art skills required.
